Little children spread their creative wings when they took part in a fun arts and crafts session at Hartlepool Central Library.

The Butterflies and Bangles family drop in session held in the junior library attracted a good turnout.

It was part of a series of free events staged by the central library, on York Road, for children of all ages over the school summer holidays.

Library staff reported a higher attendance than in previous years.

Other fun craft activities were based on dinosaurs, the seaside, and pirates and also proved popular.

The activities formed part of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge award.
