A TOP town choir is inviting men to make a New Year resolution and join them.

Hartlepool Male Voice Choir hopes the arrival of 2015 will spur new members who are looking to do something different to help swell its numbers.

Their first rehearsal of the year is on Friday following the Christmas break.

Chairman Duncan Graham said: “Why not come along and sit in at our rehearsal on January 9.

“You’ll be made most welcome. Music reading and or previous experience is not required and you don’t have to have a fantastic voice.

“You’ll be shown all you need to know as you go along.

“If you don’t feel it’s for you, that’s fine, but at least give it a try first.”

The choir has a busy schedule of concerts for this year including performing alongside operatic star Russell Watson in Hartlepool this summer.

And before that they will be part of the National Association of Choir’s Choral Spectacular at The Sage venue in Gateshead.

The choir raises thousands of pounds every year for local and national charities.

Friday’s rehearsal is at The Corner Flag, attached to Hartlepool United’s Victoria Park behind the Mill House Leisure Centre.

It starts at 7.30pm and all new faces are welcome.
