Men with a bit of spare time on their hands can find out more about an exciting new project starting in Hartlepool.

Two open days are being held by the Hartlepool Men’s Shed, which has set up home in Osborne Road.

It is open to any male who is retired, unemployed, wants some company or just something to do.

Project leaders have been hard at work over the last few months fitting out their workshop in the old Oz Centre, near the Clifton Avenue end of Osborne Road.

An open day will take place tomorrow and on Saturday, both from 10am-3pm.

Learn a new skill or brush up on existing techniques in woodwork, gardening, metal work, crafts and more.

You can work on your own project, do something for the community or just call in for a cuppa and a chat.

Free health advice will also be provided on occasions by outside professionals.

Membership is £10 a year and £1 for a day’s visit.
