Staff at a private nursery are celebrating after scooping the highest possible rating by Government inspectors.

Playmates Private Day Nursery, in Murray Street, Hartlepool, has been graded as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted following a recent report.

Inspectors spent time at the nursery watching how the staff work with the children, and also how they carry out all the necessary checks and procedures to keep the children safe, stimulated and well cared for.

They were so impressed by what they found at the town establishment that the four areas that are graded following an Ofsted inspection all received the highest possible marks.

It is the second time in a row that the nursery has scooped the title.

Julie Hall, owner/manager at Playmates is delighted.

She told the Mail: “It is all down to sheer hard work, commitment and dedication from all of my staff.”

The report gave some glowing comments including: “The quality of teaching is outstanding. The well-qualified staff provide an exceptional and varied range of high-quality learning experiences inside and outdoors.

“As a result, children are motivated and eager to learn. This means all children are extremely well prepared for their next stage in learning, including school.”

The report added: “Staff develop excellent partnerships with parents who are constantly involved and very well informed about their children’s progress and achievements.

“The owner, who is also the manager, is very ‘hands-on’ in the nursery and she is an inspirational leader. Staff respond very well to her enthusiasm.”
