SPECSAVERS will be selling bright red comedy glasses to tie in with this year’s Red Nose Day.

Visitors to the opticians in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, Hartlepool, can pick up a pair of the glasses, which come in large and small sizes, for £3, with £1 going to Comic Relief.

We want to encourage everyone, young and old, to join in the fun and buy their Red Nose Day glasses.

This year, people are encouraged to make your face funny for money on Red Nose Day, which takes place on Friday, March 13.

Ian Walker, store director at Specsavers Hartlepool, said: “We’re all set to make our faces funny for money in support of the great work that Comic Relief does.

“We want to encourage everyone, young and old, to join in the fun and buy their Red Nose Day glasses.”

The store is also asking customers to post pictures of themselves wearing the glasses on Twitter with the hashtag #poolieselfie.

Hartlepool Specsavers have joined in with stores nationwide, along with fashion designer Gok Wan, to promote the glasses and raise money for Comic Relief.

All money raised by Comic Relief goes towards helping poor and vulnerable people in the UK and Africa.
