A POPULAR pharmacy is in the running for honours yet again.

But once again, Paul Pendergood put the nomination in the Hartlepool Best of Health awards down to the fantastic customers and patients that the Oxford Road business has.

We don’t expect this but it shows how good our patients are that come here. It shows how they appreciate what we do. It is really nice that they nominate us.

Paul Pendergood, Clayfields Pharmacy

Paul and his Clayfields Pharmacy has been nominated for the Pharmacist of the Year category within the Hartlepool Mail-backed awards.

The nomination said: “Paul and the staff are exceptional in their care for patients within Hartlepool.

“They are always helpful, pleasant. They will deliver to a patient’s home if a family or patient cannot collect their prescription.”

But Paul said: “We don’t expect this but it shows how good our patients are that come here. It shows how they appreciate what we do. It is really nice that they nominate us.”

Paul, who has worked at the Clayfields Pharmacy in Oxford Road, for six years, is no stranger to success in the competition, having won the award two years ago.

This year, the awards are being backed by the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, the Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees Clinical Commissioning Group, and Seneca Homes.

It could not be easier for people to nominate their health heroes.
