A MAIN road on the Headland has been re-opened by police following an accident this morning.
Emergency services rushed to Northgate, on the Headland, at around 6.50am today after receiving reports of a 46-year-old cyclist who was trapped under a white Toyota car.
The man suffered serious head injuries in the accident and was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, by ambulance.
Fortunately his injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
Firemen worked to free the man from under the car for more than an hour before he was rushed to hospital at around 8am.
The road then re-opened at around 9.30am.
