A rugby club is holding a day of family fun next month.

Hartlepool Rugby Club is hosting the Festival of Rugby on Saturday, July 4.

The day will kick off at 12pm at the club’s Mayfield Park ground.

Entry is free of charge.

There is a whole list of events and entertainment planned for the day-long extravaganza.

At 12pm there will be a Rugby Taster Session for Juniors , from under 6s to under 14s.

At 1pm there will be a Rugby World Cup Touch Rugby Competition for ages 15 and over.

From 4pm the Hartlepool Hawks Cheerleaders will entertain the crowds.

There will also be a host of fairground rides , music, face painting, beat the keeper, a goal kicking competition , and a tug-of-war event.

There will also be afternoon scones and teas for members of the public to enjoy, along with a barbecue, cakes and bakes, and fudge.

There will be stalls from the Body Shop, Hartlepool and District Hospice, Bombilicious Bombs, Classy Cake Company, and crafts.
