An event combining Mod music and motor scooters will ride into Hartlepool for a third time next year.

March of the Mods has raised over £30,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust over the last two years.

The whole concept of Modernism was and still is to constantly seek out cool new music, new fashion, and definitely new friends

And organisers are promising next year’s event will be the best yet.

March Of The Mods is a national event that takes place in different towns and cities every March across the UK with a wide range of bands and DJs giving their time and talent for free.

Hartlepool March Of The Mods 3 will take place on Saturday, March, 19, at The Staincliffe hotel, at Seaton Carew.

Organiser and local musician Kev McGuire said: “It’s going to be another fantastic event for the town with all proceeds going to The Teenage Cancer Trust.

“This is the third event for Hartlepool March Of The Mods and is by far the best event in Hartlepool alongside the Hartlepool Summer Weekender.

“The Staincliffe kindly let us take over the whole hotel for the day and night, and absolutely anyone and everyone is welcome.

“You don’t have to be a Mod or have a scooter to be part of it, the whole concept of Modernism was and still is to constantly seek out cool new music, new fashion, and definitely new friends as well as meeting up with old.”

About 12 bands are lined up so far as well as acoustic acts and six DJs from across the UK who will be playing lots of indie, Ska, mod, reggae, Two Tone, soul, Motown, punk, modern day classics.

“We are so lucky to have some of the best Northern Soul DJs in the UK spinning the very best tunes from that genre,” added Kev.

In 2014 Hartlepool March Of The Mods raised over £13,000 and this year made over £18,000 after raffling a Lambretta GP200.

In March people can win a Mini Cooper Sport Convertible for just £20.

Tickets are £10 available from www.hartlepoolmotm.co.uk and Kev on 07975898756. More details are on a Hartlepool March Of The Mods Facebook page.
