A Hartlepool training agency has been given the official seal of approval.

Total Training Company UK Limited, which has centres in Birmingham and Hartlepool, has received notification from the Skills Funding Agency that it is to be included on the new Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP).

We are naturally delighted to be included on the RoATP list and to be part of this new initiative to promote and improve apprenticeship training in the UK.

The register has been created to support the new Apprenticeship Levy, which was introduced by the UK Government in April 2017, as the new mechanism for apprenticeship provision for companies and students.

Requiring all UK employers with a payroll bill of more than £3million to invest in apprenticeships, the new funding scheme started on May 1.

Total Training was required to demonstrate that it is able to deliver apprenticeship training to employers using the service and who are able to pay for the necessary programmes.

The company is also required to deliver training to its own apprentices and those of any associated companies using the service and provide apprenticeship training on a full subcontractor basis.

Managing director John Smith said: “We are naturally delighted to be included on the RoATP list and to be part of this new initiative to promote and improve apprenticeship training in the UK.

“Many young people are seeking an alternative career route to the traditional university course, particularly in light of the high costs associated with gaining a degree in the 21st Century.”
