Families flocked to the waterfront in Hartlepool for a day of fun.
Crowds headed to the Marina to enjoy the town's Waterfront Festival, which was held on the site of the former Jackson's Landing.
The sun shone as people took to their deckchairs to enjoy the music and entertainment, organised by Hartlepool Borough Council.
Free to attend the event had something for everyone with arts, music and entertainment.
A number of people performed on the main stage during the event, including children’s favourites, Cook and Line from CBeebies, and former X-Factor star, singer Jake Quickenden.
There was lots to keep everyone entertained, with street food, a funfair and artwork and crafts for the children.
Also performing throughout the day were members from Hartlepool Folk Festival and there was also a vintage fair.
At 5pm people got comfortable to watch a range of movies on the big screen, including The Little Mermaid and Jaws, before the arrival of the huge mechanical whale.
