FUNDRAISING golfers have chipped in more than £2,000 for charity.

Hartlepool Rotary Club held a tournament and fancy dress night at Seaton Carew Golf Club in aid of Daisy Chain.

The busy day raised £2,250 for the Teesside charity that supports people with autism.

Around 80 players had taken to the course to take part in the event before heading back to the clubhouse for an auction and an entertaining evening.

Rotary and golf club members put on a host of acts from Elvis and The Village People to comedy duo Laurel and Hardy and Groucho Marx.

Sam Mosley, president of Hartlepool Rotary Club, who performed as Groucho Marx, said: “I am delighted with the amount raised.

“In particular I would like to thank Seaton Carew Golf Club members, along with local companies, Ken Wilson Roofing, Eastland Construction and the Staincliffe Hotel.”
