A GRANDMOTHER is still critical in hospital while police investigations continue into how she sustained head injuries.
A 61-year-old woman, named locally as Jean Pounder, was taken to hospital after police and paramedics were called to an end terrace house in Studley Road, Hartlepool.
The woman was rushed to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, and is said to still be in a critical but stable condition.
The home was taped off by police after paramedics were called to the address just after midnight on August 22.
Two men, aged 60 and 35, were arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
Neighbours told the Mail of their shock after seeing police outside house, saying they live in a quiet street and the family were “no bother”.
It is thought Jean lived in the house with her husband Dave. They are parents to Andrew and Jonathan and are said to have recently become grandparents.
