MUSICAL tennis sessions are on offer for people wanting to keep fit this summer.

The fun fitness sessions, Begin To Cardio Tennis, are a six-week programme run by Hartlepool Borough Council’s sport and recreation team and the town’s Eldon Grove Tennis Club, in Eldon Grove.

It combines circuits and different types of tennis techniques, such as shadow play and hitting the ball over the net and is set to music.

There are two courses to choose from, both at Eldon Grove Tennis Club. One starting on Monday, June 25, from 1pm to 2pm, and the other begins on Friday, June 29, from 6pm-7pm.

Liam Lewis, the council’s assistant sport and physical activity officer, said: “This is a great way to get yourself a bit fitter and increase your heart rate while learning some of the basics of tennis. It’s fun and you can work to your own pace.”

The six-week course costs a £15 per person. Places must be booked in advance by calling (01429) 284050 or e-mailing sport.recreation@hartlepool.gov.uk
