PEOPLE have the chance to get fit during a 10-week course.
Hartlepool Borough Council fitness professionals are urging local people to adopt a healthier lifestyle by taking regular exercise.
To help residents take the first steps a 10-week Hartlepool Exercise for Life course gets under way at Brierton Sports Centre (Brierton Lane entrance) on Friday.
The sessions, between 11.30am and 12.30pm, are aimed at all abilities and are an ideal opportunity to get started.
Scheme co-ordinator Lorraine Harrison said: “If anyone has been advised to increase their physical activity levels these sessions will be ideal.
“The Government recommends that all adults aged 19-64 should strive to be active daily, and aim to do at least 150 minutes of exercise each week.
“Regular exercise can help thwart high blood pressure and reduce cholesterol levels. The sessions are under the guidance of leading fitness instructors to ensure that professional advice is given to those attending.”
The cost ranges from £1.70 to £2.60 per session and for further information contact Lorraine Harrison on (01429) 284363 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
