PEOPLE are reminded to put their names down for a free healthy heart check.
Hartlepool Borough Council has joined forces with local NHS officials to stage three special events in the central area of the town.
They will take place at:The Belle Vue Centre, in Kendal Road, on Friday, February 10, from 9.30am-5pm; The Community Safety Office, at 173 York Road, on Wednesday, February 22, from 9.30am-5pm and Hartlepool Peoples Centre, in Raby Road, on Wednesday, February 29, from 9.30am-5pm.
To be eligible, people must be aged 40-74 and have no existing cardio-vascular disease.
They must not be on medication for high blood pressure or cholesterol and should not have undergone a Healthy Heart Check in the last five years.
Appointments will be allocated on a first come-first served basis, but further events could be staged if there is demand.
Anyone wishing to arrange an appointment at the Belle Vue Centre should call (01429) 221832, while appointments for 173 York Road and the Hartlepool Peoples Centre can be booked by calling (01429) 855560 or (01429) 861144 respectively.
