PEOPLE will be able to learn more about their heart at an event later this month.
The event is aimed at disabled people and their carers and takes place at the Hartlepool Centre for Independent Living, in Havelock Street, on Wednesday, August 29.
Residents are able to drop in to the event between 10am and 4pm and there will be a wide range of activities and advice available.
This will include NHS health checks, blood pressure and pulse checks, heart health advice, alcohol advice, support to help quit smoking plus details to help people become more active.
British Heart Foundation nurse practitioner Chris Briddon said: “This particular event is aimed at disabled people and their carers, and there will be advice and support to help people make healthier choices about their lifestyle.”
Refreshments and a British sign language translator will also be available.
For more information about the event call Clare Peacock, at Hartlepool Borough Council, on (01429) 851353, or alternatively email firstname.lastname@example.org
There will also be limited free transport available on the day to help people get to and from the event. But this must be pre-booked by August 22 by telephoning (01429) 851363.
