ENTRIES have started to arrive for an awards scheme which celebrates the very best in our health service.
But the message to those who are delaying putting names forward is - get them in now and give the heroes all the publicity they deserve. Any delay means your heroes will not get the immediate coverage they warrant.
We have already had interest in this year’s competition, and the first of the entries have arrived, but the only way we can consider people for awards is by having them nominated.
Our aim is to match the outstanding response from the public last year when more than 300 people put forward more than 100 names.
The following are the sectors in which we hope to find outstanding people in this year’s contest.
l GP of the Year;
l GP Practice of the Year;
l Dentist of the Year;
l Nurse of the Year;
l Team of the Year;
l Optometrist of the Year;
l Pharmacist of the Year;
l Carer of the Year;
l Midwife of the Year;
l Receptionist of the Year;
l Long Term Achievement;
l Health Care Apprentice/Student.
Last year, we had an outstanding response to the competition but we are sure we can do better this year and we can only do that with your help.
With your aid, we can make this year’s ceremony another tear jerker, as well as honouring some really well-deserving causes.
Once the deadline for entries has been reached - and it is not for a few weeks yet - the judges face the painstaking process of narrowing down the field.
Let’s make it difficult for them. Let’s have some cracking entries in every category.
Judges are looking for evidence of nominated teams and individuals who consistently deliver high quality services and show an excellent attitude towards patients in the Hartlepool area.
They want people who get on with their job but whose drive and commitment always shines through, and who goes the extra mile while always keeping in sight the wellbeing of those whose care they are involved in.
It is so easy to give praise to people who really deserve it.
To nominate, either fill in the form on this page, or visit the Hartlepool Mail website and follow the link on the home page.
