A HARTLEPOOL Mail journalist will tackle the third of five races to raise money for the Stroke Association.
Head of features Chris Cordner is days away from competing in the Great North 10k run in Gateshead on Sunday, July 22.
He has already completed the 10k Sunderland City race and the Tees Pride five-kilometre race in Middlesbrough, both in May.
His final two challenges will be in September when he tackles the Tees Pride 10k in Middlesbrough on Sunday, September 2, and the 13-mile Great North Run on Sunday, September 16.
Chris said: “The challenge of running five serious races in five months is a big one but so far, an enjoyable one.
“But the main thing is that I am raising money for a worthy cause and the more people who are willing to support me, the better.
“The Stroke Association is a charity which is close to my heart as I lost two people close to me to strokes.”
