“WELL done, you have proved you can do it on your own.”
That is the message of delighted trainer Steven Smith who returned from his two-week break to discover his Weigh Forward contestants have been working hard.
The 12 dedicated participants in the competition, run by the Hartlepool Mail in conjunction with Tavistock Leisure, have just two and a half weeks left before a champion is crowned.
But regardless of the outcome, they are all doing their utmost to get the maximum out of their training.
Steven revealed that some are even turning up and doing a run before the sessions.
“I knew it would be a test for them when I went away and I thought some of them would just fob it off, but they have done brilliantly,” said Steven.
The participants weren’t completely left to their own devices, Steven’s mum, Dawn Smith, and relative Erica Ward have kept an eye on sessions over the last two weeks.
The 12 hopefuls will gauge exactly how they are coming along in the competition when they are weighed this week.
The winner will be celebrating with a free hotel stay and personal training with Steven for two months.
He added: “I have seen a real change in them and they are all absolutely loving it.
“They have worked so hard and I think they all now appreciate that they don’t just want to throw it away when the competition is finished.”
