A SERIES of walks have been organised for later this month to celebrate Hartlepool’s status as a British Heart Foundation Heart Town.
The free events – which are the idea of Hartlepool Council leader councillor Christopher Akers-Belcher – will mark the launch of a new signposted half-mile ‘Heart Walk’ through Ward Jackson Park.
The main event is the Big Lime and Heart Town Walk on Sunday, October 27 starting at 10.30am. It’s backed by the Heritage Lottery Fund-supported Limestone Landscapes Project.
There will be a choice of two walks on the day and people wanting to join the walk should meet at Place In The Park at 10am for registration.
On Wednesday, October 23 at 10am and 1pm, a total of 200 Hartlepool primary school pupils will be exploring the Ward Jackson Park Heart Walk. Then on Friday, October 25 from noon to 2pm there’s another Ward Jackson Park Health Walk, this time aimed specifically at people employed in firms and organisations across the town.
