A CHARITABLE woman is helping to organise a music night to honour wartime heroes past and present.
Mary McLeod has arranged for the event to be held on November 11 - Armistice Day.
The gig will see folk singer Shirley Mac perform a string of hits from the wartime era, with all cash raised on the night going to the Royal British Legion and Help the Heroes.
It is being held in Raby Arms pub, on Front Street, in Hart Village, Hartlepool, from 8pm until late.
Mary, of Lambered Road, in the West View area of Hartlepool, said: “The event is all about remembering yesterday, today and tomorrow, and the servicemen and women.
“We want to raise as much money as possible for the Royal British Legion and Help the Heroes with this music night.
“It will be a great night with lots of music from the wartime era performed by top folk singer Shirley Mac.
“It’s on Remembrance Day night so it will have particular significance.”
She added: “We hope lots of people come along and enjoy the night while at the same time raising money for two good causes.”
Tickets cost £3 and are available from Mary on (01429) 274057, or from behind the bar in the Raby Arms pub.
