A FORMER footballer who is now a TV pundit will be guest speaker during a prestigious cricket club event.
Craig Hignett has been lined up for Peterlee Cricket Club’s Annual Sportsman’s Dinner.
The event, which will be held from 7pm on Thursday, March 28, at Shotton Hall Banqueting Suites, in Peterlee, will help raise funds for the cricket club and its junior teams
Former Middlesbrough, Blackburn Rovers and Hartlepool United star Hignett has been building up a strong reputation on the after-dinner scene since retiring from the professional game in 2007.
Hignett played at the highest level during an illustrious career which saw him feature in an FA Cup Final and a League Cup final for Boro alongside such famous names as Fabrizio Ravanelli, Juninho and Emerson.
The event, which includes a three-course meal, will also feature entertainment in the form of highly-rated North-East comedian Josh Daniels to ensure a good evening for the audience.
Peter Taylor, an occasional player at the cricket club, said: “Craig Hignett comes with a growing reputation on the after-dinner circuit.”
Tickets for the event, which has a smart dress code, cost £25 and are available now at the Hartlepool United ticket office or by calling Peter on 07717 002968.
