Historic artwork gets new home at Hartlepool museum

A painting with special significance has gone on show in Hartlepool.

The Billingham Branch of the Royal British Legion presented the Heugh Battery Museum with artwork by Kay King, commemorating the Battle of Verdun.

The museum is delighted to receive such a generous gift from both the Royal British Legion and the artist

Kay visited the battery with 13 members of the Billingham branch to present the painting to museum manager, Diane Stephens.

Diane described it as “such a generous gift.”
