Mourners from all over the country travelled to East Durham for the funeral of a much-respected man.
The funeral of horse breeder David Stanley Fisher, known as Stan, 72, took place at Holy Trinity Church, in Wingate, yesterday.
The father of two, who was well known among the traveller community, was taken from his home at Rodridge Hall, Hutton Henry, to the church on a colourful cart led by a horse.
Floral tributes reflected his passion for horses in the shape of a horse shoe and his favourite tipple with another wreath shaped like a bottle of whisky.
He also loved shooting and going away in his caravan. Following the service, Stan was laid to rest at Easington Colliery cemetery.
