A GP surgery has been nominated for a string of honours in the Best of Health awards - thanks to the fantastic links it has with its patients.
The Chadwick Practice, based in the One Life Hartlepool Centre in Park Road, is once again in the running for honours.
It has been entered for the Practice of the Year title which it won at last year’s ceremony. But there are also individual nominations for Dr Charles Brash, receptionist Andie Veart, and healthcare assistant Janice Murphy.
Dr Brash is nominated in the GP of the Year and long term achievement awards. He has been with the practice for 30 years this year and said: “It is lovely that people took time to fill in the forms and nominate us.”
He said the surgery had seen changes over the years, particularly the move into the One Life centre which he said had “transformed the practice”. This place is a huge asset to Hartlepool,” he added.
The nomination for Dr Brash described his fast and caring response to a patient with epilepsy and autism.
The entry for Janice Murphy told of her “welcoming and happy” outlook while Andie was described as always dealing with problems in a friendly and polite way.
Nominations were also sent in for the practice as a whole. One said: “It has not rested on its laurels and has sought to progress.”
Another said: “I transferred to the Chadwick practice after it was recommended to me. I have not been disappointed. From the first point of contact through to treatment, I have found the service to be first class.”
