A HOTLY-TIPPED girl group went back to school as part of an extensive UK tour ahead of their biggest gig to date last night.
Year 7 students at Wellfield Community School and Year 5 pupils from nearby Wingate Junior School enjoyed an assembly with a difference as girl-group Vanquish popped in to perform.
The four-piece group are in the middle of a tour performing at schools and colleges throughout the UK and played out an-hour long set at the school.
The group, made up of Bee, Holly, Lizzy and Rianna, were in the area as they were supporting Westlife last night at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena as part of the Irish group’s huge arena tour.
And they had the students and staff “buzzing” at the school as they performed their set and then spent the rest of the morning signing autographs for every single youngster.
Sarah Armstrong, senior head of learning at Wellfield Community School, said: “Everyone absolutely loved it.
“The girls played for an hour and then signed autographs for every single child.
“They were absolutely lovely and the children were on a high, they were buzzing.”
