HUNDREDS of people flocked to the etc Home and Lifestyle Show making the day a huge success.
It is the second year that etc, the luxury lifestyle magazine produced by Northeast Press, has held the event at the Stadium of Light, in Sunderland.
The free event featured a variety of exhibitors from across the region, covering everything from stylish home furnishings and luxury beauty products to homemade jams, cakes and jewellery.
The event sponsored by North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC), Bijoux Interiors and Gifts, Barnados and Dunelm Homes was attended by over a thousand people.
Victoria Thompson, head of communications for BIC said: “We are helping more people set up lifestyle businesses, so being involved with etc is brilliant.”
Make up Artist Amanda Bell, set up her business with the help from BIC and she was also at the event.
She said: “It has been a really good day, the atmosphere is nice and relaxed and people are browsing with smiles on their faces.”
Cakecetra had a selection of delicious cakes for sale.
Lov Skincare and Cosmetics limited gave hand massages using Tropic skin care products, a brand backed by Sir Alan Sugar, where as Fiona Joseph, an independent consultant for The Pampered Chef showed people how cooking is make easy using specialist kitchen equipment.
etc’s commercial manager Chris Mace said: “The day has been great, we’ve had a nice continuous flow of people and just over a 1,000 through the door by lunch time. A face painter has proved really popular with the children and we’ve had a nice cooking demonstration by Sunderland AFC’s chef. It’s been great.”
Mandy Dunn came from Peterlee with her family for the show.
She said: “We’ve really enjoyed the day, it’s been a nice change, there’s a lot of variety around, I’ve bought s some jams and cakes and the kids have had their face painted.”
