AN inquest has been opened and adjourned following the death of an allotment holder who died after a blaze at his plot.

Ronnie White, 76, died on Wednesday, March 14, after a fire at Rossmere allotments, in Hartlepool.

Hartlepool coroner Malcolm Donnelly opened and adjourned the inquest at his office in York Road for police and fire brigade reports.

Mr White lived nearby and his funeral will take place at St Aidan’s Church, Oxford Street, today at 11.30am.
