A COMPANY is celebrating winning a top award.
Billingham-based Devereux Developments fended off stiff competition from more than 60 transport firms across the UK to be named a joint finalist in the commercial contribution category of the Fortec Distribution Network’s annual awards.
The award was presented at a ceremony at the Carden Park Hotel, near Chester.
First established 65 years ago by Ken Devereux, the company is run by sons Ken junior, Tony and Mike and Ken junior’s son, Russell.
It employs 170 staff and serves 130 customers across Teesside, York, Darlington, Durham and Sunderland.
Russell said he and his staff were delighted with the accolade. He added: “We have had a great year this year. We have enjoyed a considerable amount of growth on the Fortec side of the business and our volumes of input and output have increased. To win this award on top is just fantastic.”
Neil Hodgson, managing director of the Fortec Distribution Network, said: “Congratulations to Russ and his team at Devereux on winning this award. The company has been with Fortec for 10 years now and both firms have grown together in that time.
“Devereux is highly respected not just among licensees across the network, but across the transport industry and we are delighted to present them with this award, in recognition for their contribution to Fortec’s success.”
