Forget the pampered life of a professional footballer - this is the Army.
Hartlepool United are in Catterick being put through their paces by the crack physical training core.
Boss Ronnie Moore has been impressed with the work put in by his squad, who were faced this morning with a gruelling assault course which took them over 10 feet walls, 18 feet scramble nets, rope swings and other challenging tasks.
Moore said: “The team were in Spain this time last year and you can see where we ended up.
“A lot of clubs do that, but I don’t think you can pre-season in Spain.
“It’s not just about fitness, it’s about bonding.
“They have worked tremendously hard as individuals, and a group, and they have done everything the Army has asked of them.
“It’s been great for me - we have a lot of new players who need to bond and get together.”
