REGENERATION chiefs will meet this week to discuss a scheme which it is hoped will breathe new life into empty shop buildings.

Hartlepool Borough Council has set aside £200,000 to improve vacant buildings and increase their commercial viability at two sites in town.

So far £158,000 has been committed to several projects which leaves a further £42,000 to help support four more schemes.
