Will Andy Murray ever win a tennis Grand Slam event?

A tearful Andy Murray could not hold back his emotions after losing the Wimbledon men’s singles title to Roger Federer.

Murray had to take time to compose himself before addressing the crowd after losing 4-6 7-5 6-3 6-4 on Centre Court.

Murray was the first Briton to reach a Wimbledon men’s singles final since Bunny Austin, but becoming the first home champion in the event since Fred Perry in 1936 proved beyond him yesterday.

He will have more chances, and is Britain’s best hope of ending the long wait, but it goes on.
