RECOMMENDATIONS in the Leveson Report that newspapers are more robustly regulated following “outrageous” behaviour by some sections of the national press have met a mixed response.

Lord Justice Leveson’s damning report said the press had repeatedly acted as if its own code of conduct “simply did not exist”, and “wreaked havoc with the lives of innocent people”.
