HARTLEPOOL band The Jar Family are back in the region to gig this weekend – and they’re bringing some new material with them.
The seven-piece town collective will join more than 50 other acts at the popular Stockton Calling festival.
The lads are on stage at the Arc, in Stockton, on Saturday afternoon, and are expecting a big Poolie following.
And ahead of the release of a double A-side next month and their hotly tipped new album in June, Al Devon said their fans can expect to hear some of the new songs on Saturday.
“It’s nice to be coming and playing in Stockton and going back home to see the family,” said Al, guitar and vocals in the band.
“From a selfish point of view, it’s nice to play some of our new stuff but it’s also good for our fans back home who have been watching us gig for the last two years and seen us play all of our old stuff over and over.”
The band, made up of Hartlepool lads Al Devon, Max Bianco, Richie Docherty, Chris Hooks and “Dali” as well as former Squeeze bassist Keith Wilkinson and Kez Edwards, have been playing non-stop sell-out gigs for the last year and have had a lot of radio play.
They are expected on stage at around 3.45pm on Saturday. For tickets visit www.stocktoncalling.co.uk.
