A PROUD Hartlepool exile didn’t forget his roots when he went on a trip to the Big Apple recently.
Town man Jason Sowerby was born and bred in Hartlepool, but has been living in Wallsend for the last 10 years.
But as this picture with his children Rhianna, nine, and six-year-old Owen shows, he is still Proud to be a Poolie.
Jason was happy to be snapped with the Mail’s Proud to be a Poolie picture in New York’s Times Square.
He said: “We have just returned from New York and I wanted to show everyone out there where I was from!
“I miss the town having lived in Newcastle for the last 10 years, but as the poster says, I’m proud to be a Poolie.”
Why not take your chance to show your passion about your town, just like Jason did?
All we want you to do is pick up a copy of our poster from the Mail reception or download it from our website www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk. It contains the slogan Proud To Be A Poolie.
With the summer season fast approaching, take it with you whenever you go on holiday or go away for a short break.
Have your photograph taken with the poster and send it to us so that we can publish it – and show that you have helped to spread the Hartlepool word.
Send your photos – as well as details including age, address, telephone number and email – to the Mail newsdesk, Hartlepool Mail, New Clarence House, Wesley Square, Hartlepool, TS24 8BX, or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
