A student will have stars in her eyes when she hits the red carpet at this year’s biggest movie premiere.
The force is strong for Jennifer Hargrave, 20, from Seaham, who is looking forward to rubbing shoulders with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill at the launch of the new Star Wars film.
East Durham College student Jennifer has one of the hottest tickets in town after winning the chance to interview the stars of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
She won the competition through her part-time job at Empire Cinema in Sunderland and will attend the glittering event in London on Thursday. The foundation degree music student had to give a presentation to her bosses at work with ideas on how to market some of the biggest movie releases that are taking place over the Christmas period.
Jennifer’s team of five colleagues went head-to-head with another team of staff members, and her team came out on top to attend the premiere in the capital’s world-famous Leicester Square.
Film fan Jennifer said: “This is going to be an absolutely fantastic experience. I love the Star Wars films so it was great to win this prize. I can’t wait to travel down next week to take part in the event.
“We will have jobs to do at the event but hopefully I will also get the chance to talk and get some photos with some of the stars from the movie.”
The Force Awakens is the seventh instalment in the Star Wars film series.
It sees the original cast reunite, with the story set approximately 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi.
