RECRUITMENT is set to begin for a number of sports and leisure jobs at a unique development.
The Sports Domes, in Seaton Carew, Hartlepool will be the first of their kind in the country when they are created as part of a £7m development.
And now the company behind the ambitious project has announced in excess of 20 jobs initially, with plans of more roles to come in the future.
The positions are said to cover a range of areas, including assistant sports and leisure management roles, sales advisors, reception, bar and waiting staff and a range of customer liaison positions.
The ambitious project will see two inflatable stadia erected off Tees Road, Seaton Carew, and could be open as soon as December.
The structures are new to this country but are said to be extremely popular across America.
The largest dome will be able to house six five-a-side football pitches, while the second dome is aimed primarily at golfers and will include a putting course, golf simulators, chipping green, indoor driving range and a shop.
The existing Mayfair Centre building will be transformed into a state-of-the-art gymnasium with membership for around 2,000 people, and will include a sensory room to stimulate disabled children and an interactive room aimed specifically at youngsters.
Conference and banqueting facilities will also be available at the centre.
The scheme will also see the creation of 244 houses in partnership with Persimmon Homes, which will be a phased development over the next three years.
The domes are made of a durable polyvinyl material and once the structure is in place they will be filled with air to maintain the pressure and to ensure a constant, comfortable temperature.
Staff will be needed to work in all areas of the sports and leisure complex and anyone interested is asked to put their application in writing in the first instance with a CV and send it to HR Department, The Sports Domes, Tees Road, Hartlepool, TS25 1DE.
