Social dance sessions have been extended in Hartlepool because they are so popular.

Weekly classes are already being held at the Borough Hall where they attract dozens of people each Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm.

But the Brierton Sports Centre has welcomed sessions every Friday at 1pm to 3pm. The cost of taking part is £3 and refreshments are available.

It gives people a chance to try out new sequence dances plus old favourites including Rumba Rosalie, Saunter Together and a selection of ballroom and Latin.

All dancers are welcome from complete novices to the more advanced. Places for either of the weekly sessions can be booked at the Headland Sports Centre in Union Street in advance and on the day.

People can also try FitSteps on Wednesdays from 1pm or Thursdays from 7pm at Brierton Sports Centre, costing £2 per person.
