DELIGHTED youngsters are jumping for joy after performing well at two regional competitions.

Members of the Aeronauts trampoline club, who train at English Martyrs School and Sixth Form College in Hartlepool, picked up a raft of medals at recent competitions.

Four youngsters took part in the Northern Championships, which were held at Ashington Sports Centre.

Liam Wilson, nine, came first in the U-11 category, Benjy Millward, seven, came first in the U-9 category while Emily Kirkham, 13, came third in the U-15 event and Libbie Smith, 11, competed in the U-13s.

Meanwhile, there was another event held in Stanley recently.

Benjy Millward came first in the U-9 category, thirteen-year-old Charlotte Harland came second in the U-15s and Sophie Graham, 16, came third in the U-15s category.

The U-15s girls team, consisting of Sophie Graham, Caitlin Hainsworth and Katie Oram came first overall in the team event.

Lisa Kirkham, a coach at the club, said: “We are really proud of all the youngsters that took part in the regional competitions.

“They all did very well and it reflects well on the club.”

Aeronauts hold regular sessions in the sports hall at the school in Catcote Road.

The Aeronauts Trampoline Club holds sessions on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evening, from 5pm-8pm.

Adults sessions take place on a Tuesday, from 6.30pm-8pm.

Members also meet on a Saturday from 9am-3pm.

A Come and Bounce session is also held on a Saturday between noon and 3pm, open to adults and children.
