A kite festival which is coming to Hartlepool next week has switched venues.

The International Kite Festival had been due to take place in the open space on Old Cemetery Road, Hartlepool, between June 11 and 14.

The show will be really spectacular, and can be enjoyed by all ages.

However, it has now been moved to the space next to Travelodge, on Hartlepool Marina. A giant funfair will run alongside the kite festival, with the kites to feature just over the weekend.

On the Thursday and Friday, the funfair will take place from 5pm.

At the weekend, kites will feature from noon on both days. The event has been organised by North East company W Crow Amusements, and this is the first staging of what will become an annual festival.

Dane Crow, of W Crow Amusements, said: “The show will be really spectacular, and can be enjoyed by all ages. At W Crow Amusements, we work hard to bring entertainment for the whole family to the communities that we visit.

“This is a really unique opportunity to see the world’s largest kites, and have a great family day out.”
