LADIES will do lunch to show their support for a worthy town cause.

Hartlepool & District Hospice has unveiled a new fundraising initiative on Wednesday, May 20, to hopefully raise £5,000 towards patient care.

We’re excited to introduce this ladies’ lunch to our events calendar and give women the perfect opportunity to get together with friends, colleagues or clients and support a very worthwhile cause.

It will see 120 people enjoy lunch at the Best Western Grand Hotel in Hartlepool, in an event sponsored by Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors and arranged with the support of Poppys Hairdressing.

Guests will be greeted with a drinks reception and then get the chance to browse around a range of high quality boutique stalls, selling items such as jewellery, bags, and shoes.

After high tea, there will be two guest speakers.

They are Lorna Jones the daughter of hospice founder, Alice Bendle, who will speak about the continuation of her mother’s work and her own changing role since the start of the charity, 35 years ago. Following Lorna, there will be a demonstration from style expert Jill Green of House of Colour.

The hospice’s corporate fundraiser, Carol Sennett, said: “We’re excited to introduce this ladies’ lunch to our events calendar and give women the perfect opportunity to get together with friends, colleagues or clients and support a very worthwhile cause.

“There are also a lot of very prominent business ladies in our region so it will be a great chance for like-minded individuals to do some networking and perhaps make some new contacts.”

Carol thanked Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors, Janice Auton from Poppys, Jill Green from House of Colour and the team at the Grand Hotel.

She added: “We’re looking forward to giving our guests a day to remember and of course raising vital funding for our patient care services.”

Carolyn Tilly, a partner at Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors, said: “Hartlepool & District Hospice provides amazing support for families in this town, at a time when that support is crucial to them. “With Lorna Jones, daughter of the founder speaking at this event, it’s not only a chance to reflect on 35 years of success, but also to help raise funds to ensure that the services the hospice provides will continue long into the future.

“We encourage anyone who can to support this Ladies Luncheon.”
