Ladybirds’ final day out is a top way to end great year

A final day out for the year was held by a group of ladies in Hartlepool.

The Ladybirds headed for Hardwick Hall in Sedgefield, County Durham, where they enjoyed a meal and entertainment.

But that was only one event in a busy end to the year for the group, which only formed around two years ago.

A week before the Hardwick Hall visit, the Ladybirds members headed to a tea-room to present a cheque for £693 to Hartlepool and District Hospice.

That money was the proceeds of the group’s Christmas party, held at West Hartlepool Rugby Club.

The Ladybirds originally formed as a group of friends and expanded rapidly to the point where it reached capacity.

And all this has happened within the first two years of the group forming. Now it has a busy agenda, which includes plans to do a calendar for 2016.

The success of the group has been phenomenal since it first met in October 2013. Now, there is a need for weekly meetings, and numbers have grown to the capacity of 20 people. The Ladybirds meet every Wednesday at Jacksons Wharf. Anyone interested in finding out more, should email Ann Dixon at ann.dixon44@ ntlworld.com
