TIME is running out for festive fundraisers to sign up for this year’s Boxing Day Dip.
The deadline for teams and individuals to register for the dip is tomorrow.
More than 300 people have pledged to take part when teams and individuals of all ages will brave the icy waves on Seaton Carew beach to raise money for their favourite charities.
The event will be organised for the last time by the Hartlepool Lions and a share of dippers’ sponsorship will also directly help local causes.
Last year’s dip raised £27,771 for a wide variety of good causes.
Once again, dippers will meet at Seaton Social Club, Station Lane, on December 26.
At 11.30am everyone parades down to the beach and charges into the sea for a few minutes of fun and frolics.
The parade will be headed by pipers and led by Hartlepool Lions’ Mike Dowson.
They will be joined by Councillor Carl Richardson, Hartlepool Borough Council chairman, and the chairman’s lady, Councillor Sarah Maness.
Prizes for teams and individuals with the best costumes, most money raised and more will be presented at an annual awards ceremony next March.
From next year the dip will be organised by Hartlepool Round Table.
To register, collect a card from Hartlepool Civic Centre, Victoria Road, Seaton Carew Social Club or download one from www.hartlepoollions.wetpaint.com
