A SECOND man has been charged in connection with an attack on a dad-of-two in his own home which has left him still fighting for life two weeks later.
A 27-year-old man is due before Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with grievous bodily harm with intent following an attack on Andrew Ford, 34, at his home in Second Street, Blackhall, on June 5.
Christopher Hilton, 20, from Brandlings Way, Peterlee, is due to appear at Durham Crown Court on Wednesday in connection with the incident.
Police have just released a picture of Mr Ford, who suffered a serious head injury and has not regained conscious since being admitted to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, following the incident.
Two other men, aged 30 and 32 who were arrested on the night remain on police bail while inquiries continue.
