A wildlife centre is putting its attractions on show in a series of guided walks.

The public can find out all about the RSPB Saltholme centre, on the Seaton Carew Road, near Hartlepool, on walks which are held for free once a month on a Thursday.

The next will be on Thursday, June 4 but there’s plenty more to come after that.

Further walks are planned on July 2, August 6, September 3, October 1, November 5 and December 3. They can take up to three hours and start at 12.30pm.

They are free and Saltholme volunteers can give a potted history of the site.

They can explain the site’s surroundings as well as information on the wildlife to be seen on the reserve, from plants to butterflies to birds.

The guides will also give people a better understanding of Saltholme’s industrial heritage, and how the reserve is managed.

Anyone wanting more details on the walks, should contact Saltholme on (01642) 546625, or email saltholme@rspb.org.uk
