One of Hartlepool’s most successful companies is planning a James Bond-themed fundraising charity ball.

The fifth annual summer ball is being planned by JDR at Hardwick Hall Hotel in Sedgefield, to raise money for Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice.

The theme for our event is ‘Diamonds are Forever. James Bond, Bond girls, Bond villains, jewellery and fast cars!

Mandy Marriner

Spokesman Mandy Marriner said: “The summer ball will be held on Friday, June 2 from 6.15pm until late.

“The theme for our event is ‘Diamonds are Forever’.”

It promised to feature themes of James Bond, Bond girls, Bond villains, jewellery and fast cars, said Mandy.

There will also be a chance to enjoy rides in high-end super cars from 4pm until late - thanks to The Sporting Bears Motor Club - in exchange for a requested donation.

Mandy said every penny would be “going to our 2017 nominated charity ‘Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice’.”

Cars available in return for a donation include Ferrari, Porsche, Jaguar, and Lamborghini, said Mandy.

She added: “A three-course meal will be served during an evening filled with entertainment, raffles, an auction and a disco until late. Live entertainment will be performed by Jeff Mull from the X Factor.

“For the F1 fans, you have the opportunity to bid on ‘Dinner with Rob Smedley’ head of performance engineering at Williams F1, and his wife Lucy, along with two other auction lot winning couples. Bid on all 3 lots if you wish.”

Other auction prizes include the chance of a BAE Eurofighter Typhoon and Hawk Jet experience.

Mandy urged those interested to visit the JDR Charity Events website which can be found at www.jdrcharityevents.co.uk for more information and details of other exciting auction lots.

The evening’s activities will also include raffles as well as a live meal.

Tickets for the ball are available at £60 each or £600 per table of 10.
