TWO men were trapped on a jet ski after being grounded by a low tide.
Hartlepool’s inshore lifeboat and the town’s Coastguard team helped the two riders who became grounded on sands between the Blue Lagoon at Seaton Carew and Seal Sands.
Rescuers waited for an hour for the tide to come in and the jet ski was freed under its own power.
The incident happened around 7pm on Saturday and came after the Hartlepool all-weather lifeboat spent two and a half hours towing 30ft sailing boat The Polar Bear ashore.
The man on board the vessel had called for help when the boat suffered fuel filter problems two miles off Steetley Pier.
The town’s HM Coastguard team also helped in the operation, which took place around 10.30am on Saturday.
