Hartlepool College of Further Education has signed up a ground-breaking partnership with a leading estate agent to deliver training to all their staff across the region.
Pattinson is one of the largest estate agents in the region and employs 180 staff across 29 branches from Teesside to Northumberland.
Hartlepool College of Further Education will deliver NVQs, apprenticeships and adult apprenticeships as well as literacy and numeracy skills to existing staff and any new entrants into the organisation.
The college and Pattinson has also teamed up with JobCentre Plus to help those at threat of redundancy or who have been unemployed for less than 12 months to become flexible self-employed workers for the estate agents.
This flexible contract is also proving very popular with parents and entrepreneurs who wish to further their career path and currently has more than 110 staff on the programme.
Pattinson managing director Justin Anim said: “We value our staff and one of our key objectives is to ensure they add real value to the workplace.
“Hartlepool College of Further Education has been able to offer a flexible training package that will ensure all our staff have industry standard qualifications and skills. This can be achieved with as little disruption to our normal day-to-day business which was very important to us.
“We believe staff undertaking these qualifications will be a clear endorsement to any prospective customer that Pattison is serious about delivering a high standard of service and customer care in an industry that often receives negative press.”
Assistant college principal Andrew Steel said: “We are delighted to work with Pattinson to deliver its training requirements throughout the region.
“We are one of the largest work-based training providers in the region and this partnership, like many others, demonstrates how Hartlepool College of Further Education can meet employer training and development demands, whatever they may be.”
Pattinson staff will be able to advance their skill set in all areas of estate agency including negotiating skills, booking valuation appointments and accompanied viewings, and literacy and numeracy skills. The college has been celebrating Adult Learners’ Week to promote the benefits of all kinds of learning.
