PARENTS are being encouraged to take their children along to a new day nursery that has recently opened its doors.
Little Treasures Day Nursery, which opened in April this year, is based at Belle Vue Community Sports & Youth Centre, in Kendal Road, Hartlepool.
Centre bosses say they wanted to open the day nursery to widen the age range of the busy community centre but also to accommodate those youngsters in the surrounding areas who may qualify for free funded childcare places.
Bosses at the day nursery say they can accommodate chldren between the ages of 18-months right up to five years old, providing “local and affordable” childcare to parents in the area.
In particular, Little Treasures is hoping for parents in the Belle Vue and Foggy Furze area of town to use their new facility.
Claire Wainwright, nursery co-ordinator, said: “In April this year we opened our own day nursery situated inside the Belle Vue centre itself.
“Its name is Little Treasures Day Nursery and we opened, not only to widen the age range of uses to the centre, but also to accommodate the children in the Belle Vue and Foggy Furze areas who may qualify for the two-year old free funded childcare places and working parents who may want to access childcare on their door step.
“The Belle Vue area had no childcare or day-care to accommodate these children who may be entitled to the free 15 hours term time care a week.
“We have only been open a few weeks and just want to let parents and families know that we are here and can cater for children aged between 18-months and five years.
“It is local, affordable childcare.”
Parents are asked to call the centre or to pop in to see if their child is eligible for the 15-hours free chid care during term time only. For information call Little Treasures Day Nursery at Belle Vue Community Sports & Youth Centre on (01429) 221832.
